MATHS
Mathematics equips pupils with a powerful set of tools that includes logical reasoning, problem solving skills and the ability to think in abstract ways. In mathematics we study numbers; how to use and apply them, shape, space, and measures and how to handle data. We use the National Curriculum as a guide to plan and teach mathematics. We use the Hamilton Brookes Maths scheme for mixed-age classes, supplemented by resources from other schemes.
To support parents, we recommend using ‘Maths at Home’ videos. These are composed of activities that feel like they are taking place on a table at home, encouraging communication, conversation and lots of fun between parents and their children while learning mathematics.
